SLIM's sanitisation solutions

UV-C radiation is a system for sanitising surfaces, objects, water and air that has been widely used by scientists for over 40 years. Its use is mainly aimed at limiting the risk of contracting infections from viruses and bacteria. The technologies on the market offer a wide choice of devices designed to eliminate viruses, including coronavirus. As there are so many options to choose from, it is important to know how to distinguish the different technologies available and rely on solutions expertly designed by professionals in the sector.

In recent years, at SLIM we have also developed the right skills in applying this technology and we are able to offer our partners support in the creation of customised UV-C LED sanitisation solutions for a range of applications. What are the UV-C LED sanitisation solutions proposed by SLIM? Let's find out together.

More specifically, in this article we will talk about:

Germicidal UV-C LEDs

UV-C LED technology, characterised by a variable wavelength from 265nm to 280nm, applied on specific devices is an innovative and sustainable solution for the disinfection and sanitisation of certain objects and water or even for air purification.
UV-C LEDs are semiconductor components composed of several layers of support material, capable of performing fundamental switch-on and switch-off sequences to kill microorganisms, such as bacteria
Unlike the first UV-C technologies, such as traditional mercury lamps, germicidal UV-C LEDs are characterised by a rather small and compact shape, making them adaptable to a wide variety of applications. The germicidal UV-C LED source must be assembled on a special structure of electronic components, which allow its correct operation. It starts from the design of the PCB followed by testing the heat dissipation system, as well as the actual UV-C irradiation

UV-C LEDs: customised solutions for every need

For some years now, at SLIM we have been increasingly delving deeper into UV-C LED technology for effective sanitisation signalling. Our expertise in electromechanical components and light signalling combined with the know-how of exceptional partners allows us to create innovative solutions that can be tailored to the customer's specific end applications.  We are a supplier of UV-C LED devices, able to create technical sanitisation solutions in compliance with quality standards: our research and development department develops projects and prototypes of customised devices.
We operate in different areas of application, providing UV-C LED modules for water sanitisation of coffee machine or beverage dispenser tanks, water sanitisation modules for small pipes, UV-C LED with sanitising function for objects, air purification devices, sanitising devices for horticulture, and much more. We are always available to evaluate any requests to create specific UV-C modules.

Manufacturers of UVC LED devices that emit potentially harmful radiation to humans must comply with strict safety parameters, verifying that such devices are effective for their intended purpose. For this very reason, especially in the development of prototypes of custom solutions, our research and development department works closely with the analysis laboratories in order to test the effectiveness and safety of prototype solutions
